The Big Easy
Ernie Els is widely regarded as the greatest South African professional golfer of all time and one of the most successful and wealthy golfers in history. Els, who is known as “The Big Easy” because of his towering 6-foot-3 stature, has won over 70 tournaments in his career. Ernie Els is one of only six golfers to have won the US Open and The Open Championship on multiple occasions. In 1994 and 1997, he won the US Open, and in 2002 and 2012, he took home The Open Championship. Els has never won The Masters or the PGA Championship despite winning four majors. On four occasions, he did, however, finish in the top three of those tournaments.
