The Marion Carll Farm was included in the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, despite its state of disrepair. The National Register of Historic Places contains over one million properties. A property must meet at least one of four criteria to be considered for inclusion: it must contribute to the major pattern of American history, be associated with significant people from the past, have distinctive architectural characteristics, or be “likely to yield information important to prehistory or history.”

The Carll family images provide a deeper look at the people who lived on the farmstead. Despite the fact that they were unidentified, their apparel indicates that they were well-off. Sansivero explains, “Going through many photographs and documents gave us glimpses into the family’s history, and how they lived in the past.” These priceless treasures were scattered on a table in one of the house’s rooms and are now carefully housed elsewhere.
